Applications:

The UL 651 Dropping hammer impact tester/Testing Machine/Falling Weight Impact testing machine is for testing metal and non-metal materials’ impact resistance. It is suitable for determining the non-plastic transformation temperature of ferritic steel (including plates, profiles, cast steel and forged steel). Using computer control, it has the advantages of high reliability, strong anti-interference, versatility, adaptability, strong expansibility, and small maintenance workload.

Main work principle

UL 651 Computer Controlled Falling Weight Impact Tester/Testing Machine is composed of guide rail, base, anvil, hammer and lifting mechanism.

In order to ensure the safety of the operating personnel during the working process, the hammer body is equipped with a manual iron block safety insurance mechanism and protective devices to prevent flying when the specimen is broken.

The microcomputer-controlled impact energy preset system, by presetting the hammer mass and test energy, the testing machine automatically raises the hammer to the required height. At the same time, the monitoring of safety protection devices can be realized.

The electric lifting mechanism is at the bottom right of the frame, which reduces the height of the whole machine, enhances the stability, and is convenient for maintenance.

It offers an apparatus to prevent 2^nd strike during testing.

Testing system
The measurement and control system of the drop weight impact test machine is a special measurement and control system developed. This system can accurately display the impact energy by controlling the lifting height of the falling hammer and displaying the energy after the falling hammer impact, providing accurate and reliable test data for the test. The design of the entire test system is reasonable, the touch screen interface is beautiful and easy to operate.

Operation
When the test piece is ready, input through the computer display menu or command button: drop weight m, local gravitational acceleration g, preset energy W, and the computer will auto calculate the impact height h.
Click raise button, the computer will send a signal to the control switch of the hammer lift motor. There is an auto zero position from the beginning of lifting, when the hammer reaches to the needed height, it will auto stop there.
When the material is in place, click the drop hammer “Impact” button on the panel, drop hammer drop impact test piece.
